NATURE at your doorstep: On our property we have deer, (we have a doe that usually beds down with her fawns under the cedars just outside your living room window), raccoons, opossums, fox, the occasional skunk and there is a trail that the nutria take from the wetlands area between the cottage and the golf course that ends in your front yard. The frogs will serenade you in the evening during certain times of the year and the stars are bright.

Birds of all colors and sizes are plentiful, from hummingbirds to Canadian geese. We have hawks, falcons, wild turkeys, finches, grosbeaks, and more, depending on the season. 

AMENITIES: Free Gigabit Internet access, streaming channels through the Roku player, refrigerator (apartment-sized, not tiny), toaster, microwave, induction cook top with all pots, pans and utensils. Nu-Wave oven, toaster oven, single serve Keurig-style coffee maker.

DECOR: The cottage was built with a very country / farmhouse style. It has Dutch doors, reclaimed gymnasium hardwood floors throughout, and vaulted ceilings. There are cool stories behind everything inside.

SLEEPING arrangements: The cottage is ideal for 1 or 2 guests (a couple) as there is only one queen bed. However, up to 4 guests are welcome if you don't mind the full-size sofa sleeper.

ACCESS TO COTTAGE

You’ll need to be able to navigate a long stairway to reach your private entrance

Motion lights are activated at night to guide you; however, a flashlight or mobile phone light would be good to have out at night as you walk down the stairway. There is a flashlight for your use on the table

CATS

• We have two friendly cats. The grey and white one is our girl, Casey. The black and white one is our boy, Charlie

• They are not allowed in the cottage, no matter what they tell you 😊

• They love people. Please do not feed them, even treats – they are on a special diet

YARD

PARKING / NEIGHBORHOOD

Parking – on street parking 

Noise – please be quiet by 9 p.m. – thank you. We live in a quiet neighborhood, but because we are on a slope directly above the golf course, when the golf course is open, you can sometimes hear conversations from the people below

LAUNDRY

Sorry, no laundry facilities - yet! There is a laundromat about a mile up the road.

BATHROOM

• Please keep wood floors dry, especially in front of the shower

• Please use the shower rug provided and hang over shower door when not in use

• There is a heater in the bathroom. Please turn off when not in use

• Please don’t put anything in the toilet except toilet paper

• Freshly washed towels are provided for your stay, however if you need additional towels, please let us know

• Hang damp towels on over the door hooks

• A hairdryer & an iron are provided for your convenience

KITCHENETTE

• Cooking – please turn off appliances when not in use

• Induction Cooktop - must have a pan on it to work

• Pots and pans are in the bottom cabinet of the hutch

• Microwave – on top of refrigerator

• Refrigerator is apartment-sized for your convenience

• Toaster oven

• Warning - operating too many appliances at once can triggger a short in the circuit. Please let us know if this happens

HEATING

• Use thermostat for gas fireplace

• Turn switch to “Heat”

• Adjust temperature to your comfort

• If you will be gone for a while, please lower thermostat

• There is an efficient space heater if needed

COOLING

• Open windows and ceiling fans are often sufficient.

• Window air conditioner 

• Please turn off air conditioner when not in use.

FOOD & DRINK

• If you have any dietary concerns, please let us know well in advance of your stay.

• Luggage can be stored under the bed.

• Bed linens have been freshly washed for your stay.

• There is a dual control heated blanket

• Extra linens, pillows and blankets are stored under bed or on top of clothes hanger.

• An iron and table-top ironing board is provided.
